It's a Boy!!

It's a boy!!

Mark, Madison, and I are proud to announce our newest addition,

Grant Steven Keller.

Grant was born January 7th, 2011 at 12:31 p.m. He weighed 8 lbs and 12 ozs. and was 19 inches long.

I started having contractions Friday morning at 3:30 a.m. I waited till 4:30 a.m. to wake up Mark due to our false alarm we had the Sunday before. By 5:30 a.m. I knew we would be going to the hospital. Mark got things ready, I took a shower of course, and we both waited for Madison to get up to go to daycare. By 6:30 a.m. I was having pretty hard contractions. Madison keep saying, "Mommy sad, Mommy crying." Then after the contractions she would say, "Mommy, happy again?" Poor girl! We took her to daycare at 7 and made it to the hospital by 7:10 a.m. or so. Thank god daycare is right next to the hospital!! When we arrived I was dilated to a 6 and ready for my epidural!!! Which didn't work by the way on my left side. I had to get another, but felt much better after that!! Started pushing at 11:15 a.m. and little Grant arrived at 12:31 p.m.!!! Mark just new it was a boy when his head came out. He said the features looked like a boy. I told him not to jinx it since that is what he said last time!! But sure enough Mark was right. He was a big, healthy boy!

Grant and Madison are adjusting well. Grant is a good eater. Sometimes to good. I feel like some days all I do is feed him. He is sleeping at night now, only getting up to eat of course every three to four hours. He really is a great baby so far. Madison has grown up so much in the past week. She just seems bigger and more like a little girl. She is a good helper and wants to give Grant kisses all the time. As for me, I am staying home now with Madison and Grant. It has been a great experience so far and will probably be one of the best decisions I have made. Mark has decided to go back to school to get his surveying degree at this busy time in our life as well!! I know, he is crazy! But I am staying at home and it's only going to take a year and a half. As for Mark and I, we are still adjusting to being a family of four. We both looked at each other the second night in the hospital and said, "we have two kids". It's just weird to think how far we have come. Our family is complete!!! What more could we ask for?

Life is good!!

The best Christmas ever, until I jinxed it!

This Christmas we did not go back to Newton due to my due date being so close to the holidays. It was the most relaxing Christmas ever! We are never going to want to go back to the hustle and bustle of traveling again. We definitely spoiled ourselves! We started the holiday off by going to church Friday night. We all looked so good I wanted to get a picture by the tree. Madison did so well in church due to daddy giving her gummies every five minutes. Headless bears that is......Mark said he didn't want her to choke. I think he just wanted a treat as well!

We left cookies and milk out for Santa and carrots for his reindeer. I don't think Madison quite gets it yet because she wanted to eat the cookies!

Gifts from Santa. He had a little help from Grandparents, Aunts and Uncles, and Mom and Dad! Mark spent half the day putting everything together. He sure was glad he didn't wait till Friday night!

We were supposed to end the night by seeing some Christmas lights. That was not the case. We stopped to get gas and then the car would not start. We were stranded at MotoMart with hot chocolate and popcorn in hand. Luckily our great friends Bill and Jenna were still in the area. They recently had a baby boy on Monday and did not go back to their hometown for Christmas either. Bill was nice enough to pick us up so we did not have to get towed. Mark changed out the battery and so far so good. I had to jinx the end of the day because the rest had been so great! Mark and I just kept bragging about how wonderful the day had been. It still was the best Keller Family Christmas I will never forget!! Thank you Daddy and Madison for making it so special!!

Second times a charm!

Obviously the first time seeing Santa did not go well!

But she did get the courage to give him a cookie.

The second time went much better. A toy store here in town has a live reindeer and Santa you can visit. Madison did much better and even petted Vixen!! The scanned photo isn't that great, but she looked so cute holding her teddy bear!

Madison's first hair cut.

I know it's crazy that Madison is two and has never had her hair cut. I think I was more fearful then her, but she did surprisingly well. She didn't cry at all!! Thankfully her hair is curly, so I couldn't mess it up that bad. I took about an inch off and cut a big curl for her baby book.

But here is the proof. I could barely vacuum it up!! I'm ready for this baby to come so my hormones are back to normal!!!

In the home stretch!!

Yesterday I was officially 36 weeks. Only 4 weeks to go!!!! Even though these seem like the longest weeks. I got my first check on Thursday and no dice. Not even 1/2 cm. Bummer!! Mark and the doctor both said it's still to early. Are they the ones carring this child? I don't think so! I thought I would post my progress and the link to my recent maternity photos. It was challenging to get miss Madison to cooperate, but she did great!! I wish I could say the same for Santa.....that's a different post!!

We can't wait to see if it's a boy or a girl!!
