Happy Birthday to You!

Today is Madison's first birthday! It was kind of a low key day with her birthday party being tomorrow. We did get her pictures taken today and she wanted nothing to do with her cake. I hope she digs in tomorrow!

It's hard to believe a year has come and gone. Lots of wonderful memories come to mind thinking about how much she has changed through out the year. Mark and I have been watching video of her this past week getting it ready for the party. I can still remember how tiny she was with those big eyes! I can't wait for the many more birthdays to come and to see what my little girl will grow up to be. I love you Madison!

Pumpkin Patch Time

Last Saturday we went to Eckert's Pumpkin Patch with the Hermann's. We had awesome weather with awesome company! I have never seen so many pumpkins in my life.

Madison managed to find a couple for herself.

Update on Mark's test......he felt very confident in himself! He got done an hour early for each part of the test. Too bad he does not find out the results until January!!!!!

Only three more days till Madison turns the big 1!!! I can't believe how time flies!!! We had a little scare on Monday with possible flu. She only got sick once at daycare, then got home and was fine the rest of the day. I think she was playing hooky to be with Daddy!! I don't blame her, I would too!! So far so good, no sickness today. I just want her to be healthy for her party on Saturday. I tried out a test cake for her to dig into......what do you think? I might make the next one pink!

Good Luck Daddy!

Madison and I wanted to wish Daddy good luck on his PE test tomorrow. Mark is taking his 8 hour long Professional Engineering test that he has been studying very hard for the past 3 months. We are very proud of him and know he will do GREAT!!!

Madison made Daddy a good luck card and gave it to him this morning before he left for work. She is very crafty with markers!!

Mark put away his make shift desk, a.k.a card table, in our bedroom last night. I think I was just as happy to see it go. I'm so glad I'm going to get my husband back to enjoy my evenings and weekends again!! Kudos to anyone who goes back to school with a child!!

Good Morning Mommy!

How could you have a bad day waking up to this?

A lovely fall weekend.

I figured I had better blog about last weekend before this weekend snuck up on me. Last weekend was another busy one! We headed back to Newton Thursday night to get ready for Mark's work get together on Saturday. CDI, Inc. came to Newton to get a feel of the "country life" at the Schumacher dairy farm and the Keller hog farm. It's amazing to see people reactions to cows, pigs, corn, combines.....ect. that have never seen anything like that before up close!! I guess we take it for granted.

We started the weekend out on Friday night going to the football game. We haven't been to one in years and not much has changed. I do admit, I love the feeling of walking up to the stadium and hearing the crowd. It was a fun time even though Newton did not win. I was really tired of hearing everyone say that Newton is horrible this year. You gotta have a bad year every once in a while, right? Madison enjoyed hearing her Daddy call every play. And he says it's not in his blood!!! Yeah right!!

Saturday was the big CDI outing. Mark and his sister Sarah showed them the milking cows and the process of milking. I did learn a few things myself.......did you know if a cow has twins and the twins are a boy and a girl, the girl will never be able to reproduce? Who knew?

There were twin calf's born that morning. The kids loved them sucking on their fingers. Madison got an up close and personal look as well with Aunt Sarah.

Combine rides with Mark's dad Steve. They thought it was better than the rides at Six Flags. I have never seen kids want to run through corn fields before. Needless to say there was a little bit of damage!

On Sunday Madison had a nice relaxing day of riding in her Daddy's old wagon, picking pumpkins and having her own personal ride with Grandpa Steve in the combine.
