Lots going on.

And Mark and I leave for Vegas on Wednesday morning. My work is taking everyone and their spouses for a dental convention. Lucky Mark gets to do whatever he wants during the day and I get to listen about dentistry......or lucky me!!! We leave on our wedding anniversary and get back on my birthday. I hope to have some good pictures and stories, but sad to leave Madison for 4 days. I don't think Mark is going to survive!!

The worst day ever!

On Monday Madison had her first year check up. By the way, she weighed in at 18 lbs 8 oz. 29 inches long. What a little peanut!! Any way, no one warns you how tragic it is going to be for the child, non the less on the parents. I would have to say it was one of the worst days ever. I don't want to scare anyone getting ready to take there child to there check up, but this was my experience! And I think Madison has a tendency to be a little dramatic. I can really tell she is becoming a toddler, but getting four shots and your finger pricked all within minutes is a little much for a 1 year old. Mark held her down while the nurse gave Madison her shots. Madison just whaled and looked at me with those tear filled eyes. Then Mark looked up at me and I just lost it. Madison was bawling, I was bawling , Mark was holding her down and the poor nurse looked so sorry. Then she got her blood tested for lead. She of course squirmed and there was blood every where, and you know me I do horrible with blood. I had to sit down with my hands over my ears to block out Madison cries. I really, really, don't want to experience that again for quit some time! The poor girl fell asleep on the way home and sniffled the whole time! Poor thing!

Madison's 1st Birthday Party!

Madison's 1st birthday on Saturday was a success! It was a little stressful at times......o.k. the whole time.....but I think it was a great time had by all. Nobody tells you how much work having a party really is!! But I would do it all over again!!! Madison got more toys and clothes then she could have ever wished for! She finally dug into her cake. I think everyone enjoyed carving pumpkins and watching the home videos of her first. And the food was excellent as well compliments of my husband!

Today is Madison's first birthday! It was kind of a low key day with her birthday party being tomorrow. We did get her pictures taken today and she wanted nothing to do with her cake. I hope she digs in tomorrow!

It's hard to believe a year has come and gone. Lots of wonderful memories come to mind thinking about how much she has changed through out the year. Mark and I have been watching video of her this past week getting it ready for the party. I can still remember how tiny she was with those big eyes! I can't wait for the many more birthdays to come and to see what my little girl will grow up to be. I love you Madison!
